When designing a modern living room it is not uncommon for a television to be the focal point of the room. With TV taking such an important place in most homes it is little surprise that large television often dominate these rooms. A 46” TV is no longer uncommon and is rapidly becoming the standard for large sets. Once one decides to purchase a large television it is important to consider what features should be included with a modern display.
The first feature should be 1080p resolution. This is the new industry standard for high quality output. Sets in the past used to only have one fourth the resolution. A clear picture is the end result and that is widely considered most important factor in purchasing a modern screen. While newer sets are expected to support higher resolutions in the future the 1080p will be the primary standard supported by cable and satellite in the near future. Eye strain can also be reduced by the clear image provided by a 1080p set.
The next point of consideration should be plenty of inputs. A modern set should have at least three or four separate inputs. With DVD players, video game systems and computers commonly hooking into the modern television it is critical that the set be capable of accepting this great number of inputs. Otherwise you may end up spending your time swapping cables instead of enjoying your new big screen.
Perhaps the most important feature to be considered is whether the screen will fit into the allotted space. These large sets are much lighter than their traditional brethren but still require significant support. This is why a wall stud is required to properly mount a set. Fortunately, modern designs do not have to be directly mounted but do require the beam to be near the center of the sets mass. Finding an appropriate position for the television is critical in positioning one’s furniture so that it may be watched comfortably.
The latest televisions are bigger and clearer than ever before. Among the latest developments have been higher resolution displays and lighter weight builds. With Television playing such a central role in our lives there is little surprise when people purchase 46” TV sets or larger. With a little study and patience it is possible to get a quality set with all the features one could ever want and never have to worry about being sold something you don’t need.
